Heartstrings book 1 Jyeshtha Singh Raichand is 'the girl' Carrying 'Raichand' as her last name makes her special in every way. She is her family's little princess and one word from her, they'd bring the world to her but all she has ever wanted is the cold and elusive Army man who refuses to even acknowledge her existence. Jyeshtha Singh Raichand has had a crush on her brother's bestfriend since the first time she laid eyes on him, and despite everyone being aware of it, The cold, elusive Yug Malhotra has always only prioritised his friendship with her brother and upholding the unsaid rule, 'Don't fall in love with your bestfriend's sister.' The 6 feet gorgeous looking NCC cadet has a heart of ice, but it melts so smoothly everytime his eyes fall on her causing an avalanche he is unable to avoid. He'd go to hell but see her getting hurt and yet he can't be the one wiping her tears away because he is sole reason behind them. ββπͺΰΌβο½‘Λ But growing up with the dreams of a fairytale awaiting her, Jyeshtha isn't the one to back off and despite Yug fighting hard to keep his feelings contained by distancing himself from Jyeshtha, she is determined to show him that she means more to him than he himself likes to think of. ββπͺΰΌβο½‘Λ "Why do you love me?" I asked, turning to look at her. She kept staring at the moon for a moment and just when I thought she wouldn't answer, her eyes moved to me, instantly capturing me in the depth of her brown orbs. "Because it's you." She softly said, that smile adorning her face as I found myself unable to look away from her.
My eyes closed on their own accord, my hands falling down to myself, my legs shaking as I fell down but he was quick to hold me in his arms. I didn't want to think what could have happened if he had actually shot my brother. I didn't doubt he would have if I hadn't interfered. His hand came to my face lightly caressing it as I cried out, "Please, don't." "Aap shadi karegi mujhse wo bhi aaj aur abhi issi mandap par." He was saying it like he was asking me for a pencil. Marriage is not a joke. I shook my head frantically but he had more to say obviously, "Haan kariye Aira yaa aap chahti hai ki hum aapke ma papa ke khun se maang bhare aapki?" My small fists hit his chest but obviously that didn't effect him much, "You are a psychopath, leave us alone." I screamed, cried, thrashed but it was no help. "Shadi kriye mjhse Aira, I will spare everyone else." He worded it out holding my hands. I was exhausted, I had little energy left and I was going to use it to survive and make sure my family lives. "Mai shadi krungi aapse." I whispered, losing a piece of myself already. Taking a deep breath, I looked straight in his eyes. "Mai iss shadi ke lie tayar hoon. Mere ma papa aur Armaan ko akela chor dijie." Something passed his eyes but he was quick to mask his face again before I could decipher anything as he replied. "Ek baar shadi ho jae tumhe bhi chor doonga. Don't worry about that."
