"Are you here to apologize?" "Yes," I whisper. "I am..." "Strip." He orders cutting off my apology. Years later, when Ruhani meets Aarav there is no room for making amends or set things right. Aarav is set on ruining her and Ruhi is forced to give in because he is the only one who can save her little sister.
Her voice breaks when she speaks again, "What about your heart which beats for me?" "How will you convince it not to call my name?" I could see all that hope in her eyes but it was a mere a flicker in front of the anger that was reeling inside me. Her words hit me harder than they should, but I clench my jaw, refusing to let it show, trying to stay in control, trying not to feel anything. "I will tear my heart apart if it ever yearns for you." I say quietly, my voice strained.
"Did you really do that?" I said, my voice calm and collected as I looked him in the eyes. He took a step towards me, his eyes moving down as if he was guilty of something as his hands approached me but I moved away. "I didn't have a choice Aira." I gulped, not able to breath the betrayal seeping deep in. "No, you did." "But you know what? You choose to break my heart instead." I fumbled out, resisting his advance as I pushed him away and ran not knowing which direction I was going in.
